Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data AcademicDude collects when you use this website or contact us, why we use it, who else is involved in processing it and what rights you have. We have tried to describe how the site actually works, in plain language.

1. Who we are

AcademicDude is an academic guidance and writing-improvement initiative of Chanakya Education Services, a sole proprietorship registered in Jaipur, India, working online with students internationally. Chanakya Education Services is responsible for the personal data described in this policy (in data protection terms, the "controller").

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Phone and WhatsApp: +91 63771 21813
  • Postal address: Plot No. 19, Third Baniyawali, Aanand Vihar, Renwal, Jaipur, Rajasthan 303904, India

Full provider details are in our legal notice.

If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at the address above.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal data we collect through:

  • this website, including the contact form, the chat assistant and the free planning tools;
  • messages you send us by email or WhatsApp;
  • the delivery of any guidance, feedback or editing support you request.

It does not cover other websites linked from our pages.

3. Data we collect and how we use it

3.1 Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your country;
  • the type of support you are interested in;
  • your description of the request;
  • your deadline, if you choose to give one.

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, ask clarifying questions, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, deliver the support you asked for. When the form is connected, our website's server sends your submission to our team's email inbox through an email-delivery service (Resend). That service processes the submission only to deliver it to us; the website itself does not store form submissions. Until the form is connected, it does not send anything and instead offers to open your own email app or WhatsApp.

Please do not include your student ID, university login or other sensitive information.

3.2 Email and WhatsApp

If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive your contact details and anything you include in your messages, including files such as drafts, briefs or feedback. We use this to respond and to deliver the support you request. Email and WhatsApp are operated by third-party providers, and their own terms and privacy policies govern how they handle your messages in transit and on their systems.

3.3 Files and drafts you share

Drafts, assignment briefs, marking criteria and supervisor comments are used only to provide the guidance, feedback or editing you have asked for. We do not publish them, reuse them as examples for other clients, or sell them.

3.4 Chat assistant

The website includes a chat assistant that can answer general questions about our services. It can run in two modes:

  • Prototype mode. Replies are generated within your browser from pre-written content. Your messages do not leave your device.
  • AI mode (if enabled). Your messages are sent to our server and passed to Anthropic, through the Claude API, to generate a reply. We do not store conversation logs on our server. Anthropic processes the messages under its own terms and policies.

Whichever mode is active, please do not share personal data, such as your full name, student number or health information, in the chat assistant. If you want to discuss a specific request, use the contact form or email instead.

3.5 Planning tools

Our free planning tools, such as the outline planner and literature review matrix, run in your browser. What you type is not sent to us. Some tools, such as the project planner, proofreading checklist and literature review matrix, save your progress in your browser's local storage so that it is still there when you return. That data stays on your device, and you can delete it by clearing your browser's site data.

3.6 Technical data and hosting

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, Cloudflare may process technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs. This is used for security, preventing abuse and delivering the site reliably. We do not use this data to identify you or build a profile of you.

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Steps before a contract, and performing a contract, when we respond to an enquiry, prepare a quote and deliver the support you have agreed to.
  • Legitimate interests, when we keep the website secure and working, and keep basic records of our correspondence. We consider that these interests do not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation, where we need to keep certain records, for example for tax or accounting purposes.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. Cookies and browser storage

This website does not set any cookies of its own, and we do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts and all other files are served from our own website, so loading a page does not send your data to Google or other third parties.

The site uses your browser's own storage only for things you ask it to do. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us:

  • Light or dark theme (local storage): remembered only if you choose a theme with the theme button.
  • Planning tools (local storage): your progress in some tools, as described in section 3.5.
  • Chat assistant (session storage): the current conversation and whether the short chat tip has been shown. Session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab.
  • Enquiry box on the home page (session storage): the topic you type, so it can be copied into the contact form. It is removed once the form has used it.

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Third-party services, such as Cloudflare, may use strictly necessary technical mechanisms to protect the site and deliver it securely.

If we add analytics or any non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and introduce a consent mechanism before they are used.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and communicate with you, including:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts the website;
  • Resend, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox, once the form is connected;
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, if enabled, which checks that form submissions come from a person;
  • Hostinger, our email provider, which stores our correspondence;
  • WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us that way;
  • Anthropic, which processes chat messages if AI mode is enabled.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

7. International transfers

We operate from India and work with students in the UK, the EU, the USA, Australia and elsewhere, and our service providers may process data in other countries. This means your personal data may be transferred to, and handled in, countries whose data protection laws differ from your own. Where UK or EU law applies, we aim to rely on recognised safeguards for these transfers, such as the contractual safeguards offered by our providers.

8. How long we keep data

We keep enquiry and project correspondence only for as long as needed to respond to you, deliver the support you asked for and meet any legal or accounting obligations.

In practice:

  • Files you share for a request (drafts, briefs, feedback) are deleted within 30 days after the request and any agreed follow-up are completed, or sooner if you ask.
  • Enquiry emails and messages are kept for up to 12 months, so that we can answer follow-up questions, and then deleted.
  • Records we must keep by law, such as invoices for tax and accounting, are kept for as long as Indian law requires.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data.

9.1 UK and EU users

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
  • restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • data portability, where processing is based on a contract and carried out by automated means;
  • complain to a supervisory authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK or the data protection authority in your EU country.

9.2 Australia, the USA and other countries

If you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles may give you rights to access and correct your information. Some US states give residents rights to know about, access, correct or delete their personal information. Wherever you are, you can ask us what data we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it, and we will respond in line with the law that applies.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including using established service providers and limiting who can access correspondence and files. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please share only what your request needs.

11. Children

Our services are intended for university students. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or our services change, for example if we add analytics or a new provider. The "Last updated" line at the top shows when it was last revised.

13. Contact

For any question about this policy or your personal data, email [email protected]. You can also read our terms of use and our academic integrity policy.
